Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations for patient procedures
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes
- Reconcile accounts receivable and maintain billing system integrity
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance carriers
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing operations
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinic/hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with 98% claim accuracy track record
- Experience with denial analysis and revenue cycle management
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance in all processes
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
