In this role, you will play a crucial part in the revenue cycle management process, ensuring that our healthcare providers are reimbursed accurately and efficiently. If you have a passion for healthcare administration and possess strong analytical skills, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information and medical records for accuracy.
- Submit and follow up on claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance).
- Research and resolve billing denials and rejections to maximize revenue.
- Generate and send patient statements, explaining billing processes clearly.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding financial responsibilities and outstanding balances.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current coding standards (ICD-10, CPT) and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize medical billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar) to manage patient accounts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with patients and staff.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
