Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, manage check-in/check-out processes, and ensure the reception area is organized and welcoming.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments via phone and online portals, send confirmation reminders, and effectively manage provider calendars.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments to ensure smooth billing processes.
- Communication: Answer incoming phone calls with a professional demeanor, route inquiries to the appropriate staff, and manage patient messages.
- Data Management: Update and maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including demographics and insurance information.
- Administrative Support: Handle billing collections, process co-pays, and assist with inventory management of office supplies and medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a medical receptionist or front desk administrator (1-2 years preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Organization: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Professionalism: Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance standards is a must.
