Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any significant changes to the supervising nurse.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding patients according to their specific dietary requirements and preferences.
- Provide essential companionship and emotional support to patients, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for patients to prevent accidents and promote well-being.
- Administer prescribed medications as directed by the healthcare team and document administration accurately.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff to develop and update personalized care plans.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required and must be in good standing with the state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in home health care, hospice, or long-term care is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with patients and families.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and assist with lifting/transferring patients (up to 50 lbs).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to client locations.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
