Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing accurately.
- Ensure the cleanliness and functionality of phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and test result documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Demonstrate exceptional patient care by explaining procedures and alleviating patient anxiety.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
