Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments according to case specifications
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Manage inventory and ensure equipment functionality in operating rooms
- Document surgical counts and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case turnover
- Adhere to OSHA and AORN safety protocols
- Participate in continuous education and skills development
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent scrub experience in outpatient surgery
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument care
- BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Arizona state surgical tech license (or eligible)
