Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and providing needed supplies.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety regulations.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff or surgeon immediately.
- Properly sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
- Document surgical procedures and patient care accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical First Assistant (SFA) certification required.
- Current, unencumbered RN or Surgical Technologist license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
