Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage surgical supplies and inventory to ensure optimal operating room readiness
- Transport patients safely and provide post-operative care support
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and OSHA compliance standards
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless case flow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in an acute care setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and instrumentation
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
