Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize cases based on medical urgency using established triage protocols
- Provide accurate medical advice to patients via phone and in-person consultations
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Document patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in electronic health records
- Monitor patient vitals and recognize critical changes requiring immediate intervention
- Education patients on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Texas
- Minimum 2 years of emergency or urgent care nursing experience
- ACLS/BLS certification required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication and empathy abilities
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Experience with telehealth triaging preferred
