Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and virtual triage assessments to determine the severity of patient symptoms and recommend appropriate care pathways.
- Provide expert medical advice, symptom education, and appropriate treatment recommendations to patients and caregivers.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to facilitate seamless patient care transitions.
- Manage high-volume incoming inquiries while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and prioritizing critical cases effectively.
- Monitor patient outcomes and follow up on care plans to ensure high-quality satisfaction and health results.
- Stay updated on current clinical guidelines and triage protocols to ensure best practices are always applied.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; PALS preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing, triage, or telehealth settings is highly preferred.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on patient empathy and active listening.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (EMR) and computer technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
