Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound medications following prescription orders and safety protocols
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage
- Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy technology systems (e.g., EMR, robotic dispensing)
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription drugs and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and automated dispensing systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in high-pressure environments
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Spanish bilingualism preferred for diverse patient population
