Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV preparations when certified
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) preferred
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic understanding of HIPAA and pharmacy compliance standards
