Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Maintain precise patient records and insurance claim documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service while explaining medication usage and side effects
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy software systems efficiently and troubleshoot technical issues
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and medication safety protocols
