In this role, you will be the bridge between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications while maintaining a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently following all state and federal regulations.
- Verify the authenticity of prescriptions and check for drug interactions or contraindications.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications, dosages, and side effects.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and processing returns.
- Operate pharmacy software systems (Epic, Cerner) to enter and retrieve patient medication histories.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist the Pharmacist in medication compounding and other clinical duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ExCPT certification required.
- Current New York State Pharmacy Technician registration.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
