Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, verify, and process prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Prepare medications for dispensing, including labeling and packaging, with a focus on patient safety.
- Manage inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and reporting shortages.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and assisting pharmacists.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient workflow and operations.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile intravenous medications under supervision.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred, or eligibility to obtain certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and basic medical terminology.
