Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with medication assistance programs
- Provide exceptional customer service regarding medication inquiries and prescription status updates
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV and specialty medications
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care transitions
Qualifications
- Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- 1+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in high-volume environments
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Background check and drug screening clearance required
