Responsibilities
- Process and dispense prescription medications for patients with accuracy and efficiency.
- Verify patient information, dosage instructions, and drug interactions to ensure patient safety.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the preparation and compounding of sterile medications.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of pharmaceutical products and place orders as needed.
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims to minimize out-of-pocket costs for patients.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding prescriptions and medications.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and compliant with all health regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner, or similar).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
