As a Triage Nurse, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medical advice. Your expertise will ensure patients receive the right level of care promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough phone and online assessments of patient symptoms.
- Apply clinical protocols to determine appropriate level of care (self-care, office visit, ER, etc.).
- Provide accurate medical advice and education to patients and caregivers.
- Document all triage encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Facilitate timely referrals to primary care providers or specialists when necessary.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year in triage or urgent care preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are required.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, critical decisions.
