As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in the pharmacy workflow, ensuring medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with pharmacists to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our community.
Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: Accurately fill prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional service to patients by answering questions regarding medications, refill requests, and insurance inquiries.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of medications and supplies, place orders, and manage returns to ensure the pharmacy is always stocked.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient profiles, medication histories, and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks to ensure the accuracy of prescriptions and the integrity of the medication inventory.
- Administrative Support: Assist with filing, data entry, and other clerical duties to support pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification or registration required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and drug interactions.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and minimal error.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in using pharmacy management systems (e.g., Rx30, PioneerRx) and basic computer operations.
