Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure a positive and calming patient experience.
- Label, log, and process blood samples accurately according to laboratory standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety protocols.
- Manage inventory of supplies and notify supervisors of low stock or equipment issues.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
