Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and workstations per OSHA standards
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for transport
- Document procedures using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Train on new equipment and techniques as provided
- Collaborate with healthcare team for patient comfort and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in blood collection
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Ability to work efficiently with provided equipment and technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency for EHR documentation
- Valid CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
