Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA guidelines
- Operate automated laboratory equipment and maintain calibration logs
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and post-draw care
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with laboratory staff for efficient specimen workflow
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current New Jersey Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- OSHA bloodborne pathogen training certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
