Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate patient records in EHR systems
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff for specimen transport and testing coordination
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Strong interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Background clearance and negative TB test required
