Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and microcollection procedures with precision
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain of custody
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for testing per CLIA standards
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen protocols
- Document procedures accurately in EMR systems with attention to detail
- Provide patient education during specimen collection procedures
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
- Excellent interpersonal communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Nebraska phlebotomy license or ability to obtain immediately
