Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and care
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to OSHA safety protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately using LIS systems
- Provide exceptional patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric and geriatric populations
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and bloodborne pathogens
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Valid CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficient in specimen handling and processing protocols
