The Role:
You will play a critical role in our diagnostic process by collecting blood samples and other biological specimens. We pride ourselves on patient care, and your expertise in phlebotomy will directly impact patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with high precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Label, log, and verify all collected specimens to ensure accuracy and chain of custody.
- Prepare patients for blood collection procedures, explaining the process to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols, including OSHA and infection control standards.
- Manage patient records and perform accurate data entry into laboratory information systems.
- Assist with inventory management of blood collection supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent (e.g., ASCP, NHA) is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex laboratory protocols.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible shifts as needed.
