Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following CLIA & OSHA protocols
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy for lab testing
- Verify patient identity and maintain detailed electronic health records
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood collection procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Train new staff on departmental procedures
- Collaborate with lab and clinical teams for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current NC Phlebotomy Technician certification or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- Must pass background check and drug screening
