Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging instruments, and ensuring sterile environments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing materials, and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations to prevent retention
- Transport patients to operating rooms and position them correctly for procedures
- Manage surgical supplies and inventory restocking during procedures
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate patient records
- Adhere to OSHA and hospital safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Commitment to completing the 12-week paid training program
- No prior surgical tech experience required
- Valid Ohio driver's license preferred
