Responsibilities
- Draw Blood: Perform venipunctures and capillary collections efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory in accordance with strict protocols.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure a positive and calming experience.
- Quality Control: Maintain accurate records of patient information and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- License: Valid California State Phlebotomy License.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
