Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations for patients of all ages.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies while strictly adhering to safety protocols and physician orders.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on clinical assessment and patient needs.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond immediately to critical changes or emergencies.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as required by the role.
- Commitment to the highest standards of patient safety and privacy (HIPAA compliant).
