Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and preventative care.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and utilize critical thinking to resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume setting.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
