Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct, compassionate patient care and comfort measures, adhering to the highest standards of nursing practice.
- Vital Monitoring: Monitor patients' conditions continuously, recording vital signs and medical data accurately and timely.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and safety guidelines.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergent situations, utilizing critical thinking skills and proper emergency protocols.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of patients within the healthcare setting.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred).
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) may be required based on unit assignment.
- Experience: No prior patient care experience required; completion of a state-approved nursing program and graduation within the last 12 months is preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Personal Attributes: Compassionate, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital environment.
