Responsibilities
- Accurately verify and code patient insurance information and demographics.
- Submit medical claims to insurance carriers electronically using EHR systems.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage claim denials to maximize revenue.
- Generate and send patient invoices and monthly statements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing logs in compliance with HIPAA.
- Communicate with patients regarding their balances and payment plans.
- Collaborate with the collections team to resolve outstanding accounts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- CPC, CPC-H, or RHIT certification is a strong plus.
- Proven experience with medical billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar).
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
