Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via telephone and secure video conferencing to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Apply clinical knowledge to evaluate symptoms, provide accurate health advice, and recommend appropriate next steps (home care, physician referral, or emergency services).
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately and timely within the EMR/EHR system.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay current with clinical guidelines and triage protocols to ensure best practices are followed.
Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana (or a compact state).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year specifically in triage, urgent care, or telehealth settings preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
