Responsibilities
- Verify and code medical insurance claims (HCPCS, ICD-10) with 100% accuracy to minimize denials.
- Manage the entire revenue cycle process, from claim submission to payment posting and patient collections.
- Analyze and appeal denied claims and resolve complex billing issues with insurance payers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Utilize EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) to maintain up-to-date patient financial records and insurance information.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Collaborate with the coding and clinical teams to ensure documentation supports billed services.
- Conduct regular audits of billing files to identify trends and improve reimbursement rates.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- Certification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or RHIT/RHIA preferred.
- Proficient in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) software and EHR systems.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
