Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and provide patient consultations under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock levels
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications and chemotherapy preparations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain accurate patient records
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding standards (USP 797)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
