Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with 100% accuracy in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control systems including automated dispensing units and cold chain monitoring
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on protocols and safety procedures
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies with payers
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical services including medication therapy management
- Maintain HIPAA compliance for all patient information and prescription data
- Operate advanced automation systems including robotic dispensing technology
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (Omnicell, QS/1, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture procedures
- CPR certification and BLS training preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred
- Experience training pharmacy technicians or pharmacy students
