Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage automated dispensing systems and maintain controlled substance inventories
- Process insurance claims and optimize medication therapy management protocols
- Train new pharmacy technicians on HIPAA compliance and safety procedures
- Coordinate with nursing staff on medication administration workflows
- Conduct quality assurance audits for prescription accuracy
- Implement inventory management systems to minimize waste
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license
- 3+ years of hospital or high-volume pharmacy experience
- PTCB certification or equivalent credentials
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy management software (QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error medication dispensing record
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Experience mentoring pharmacy technicians
