Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound prescription medications following state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and auditing controlled substances
- Provide exceptional patient consultation on medication usage and potential side effects
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain electronic health records
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy and clinical outcomes
- Train junior technicians on pharmacy protocols and best practices
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and pharmacy safety standards
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- CPR certification and knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
