Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories using standardized triage protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient priority levels and appropriate care pathways
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and emergency services
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner)
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding home care or next steps
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency room or urgent care experience
- BLS/ACLS certification required; TNCC preferred
- Expertise in rapid patient assessment and critical thinking
- Exceptional communication skills in high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights/weekends
