Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols
- Handle surgical equipment and instrumentation with precision
- Inventory and sterilize reusable instruments per hospital standards
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams for seamless care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of OR experience in general surgery
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
