Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment according to hospital protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile field integrity throughout surgical cases
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including endoscopic and robotic systems
- Document case details and inventory in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case flow
- Conduct post-procedure equipment sterilization and maintenance
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/SGNA)
- Proficiency in surgical equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique compliance
- Valid Texas Surgical Technologist license
- BLS/CPR certification required
