Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sponges.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure sterility and safety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment and work areas according to strict protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- 1-3 years of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
