Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide competent assistance during surgical procedures, anticipating the surgeon's needs for instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Prep & Sterilize: Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a sterile environment for every surgery.
- Patient Care: Assist in moving patients to the operating room, positioning them properly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Case Management: Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records and ensure zero loss.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records and surgical procedures.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to hospital protocols regarding infection control and aseptic technique.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or CSFA required.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
