Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain the sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques.
- Monitor and record patient vitals and counts of instruments, sponge, and needle.
- Ensure proper sterilization and processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural success.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
