Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations to ensure completeness
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms with proper safety protocols
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments following established procedures
- Document surgical procedures and inventory accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience
- Expert knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary settings
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
