Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments per established standards
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure seamless case flow
- Manage surgical inventory and restock supplies efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification mandatory
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA standards
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Alaska residency preferred
