Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide essential support during surgical procedures, anticipating needs and passing instruments efficiently.
- Room Preparation: Set up operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, equipment, and positioning devices prior to surgery.
- Instrument Care: Ensure all surgical instruments are properly counted, cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
- Patient Safety: Monitor patient vitals and ensure a sterile environment to prevent infections.
- Documentation: Accurately record procedures, supplies used, and patient observations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Licensure: Valid state licensure as required.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
- Flexibility: Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
