Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterilized instruments, equipment, and supplies, and ensuring that all surgical equipment is working properly.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records to ensure that no foreign objects are left in the patient's body.
- Monitor the operating room environment to ensure that it remains sterile and safe for all personnel.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Handle specimens and lab samples accurately for analysis.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Willingness to enroll in and complete our paid on-the-job training program.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient transfer.
- CPR certification preferred but not required prior to training start.
