Responsibilities
- Preoperative Preparation: Set up operating rooms with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure sterile conditions.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Instrument Management: Count and inspect all sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure zero retention and patient safety.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient vital signs during surgery and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Clean-up: Properly clean, disinfect, and arrange operating room equipment after procedures.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information and surgical procedures as required by protocol.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or eligible to obtain certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
